Lacintha was first introduced to yoga over 16 years ago. Her desire to learn more about the practice took her to her first training in Edmonton, after which she began teaching.

Since then, she has continued to learn and train, acquiring her E-500 RYT, with additional certifications in Yoga Nidra as well as Yin Yoga.

A lawyer by trade, Lacintha left her home country of South Africa, with her husband, over 18 years ago. They settled in Edmonton with their four children after spending 10 years in rural Alberta.

When she’s not in the studio, you can find Lacintha in her kitchen, experimenting with new dishes and recipes, or curled up with a book. She and her children also train karate 2-3 times a week, and the entire family are avid travellers.

Yoga, for Lacintha, is being aware and conscious of our thoughts and emotions at all times. It’s about recognizing the peaks and valleys in our emotional responses and knowing, without a doubt, that through it all, we remain whole.
